[CWM] Galaxy Y
« on: January 27, 2012, 10:52:07 AM »
Hello guys

This is the CWM version for samsung galaxy Y
Leave the zip on the sdcard, reboot on to recovery and use the update.zip to load CWM
It will load then enter CWM
Then use CWM as you whish

This version supports the boot.img (aka kernel) backup/restore

Enjoy

Working Version - Via Update.zip on samsung recovery
Download: http://goo.gl/Szgsw

Testing Versions - Native recovery, no update.zip required
Before you begin, make sure you have a Stock ROM to be flashed via Odin, WARNING: aparently some Stock version replace the baseband, if you havent flashed via odin yet, wait for others to test
Please test this version, the file contains the boot.img that can be flashed via odin or cwm (check bellow)
The boot.img contains the normal boot and recovery, please test both versions, make a backup to be sure its all 100%.
Via Odin:
Download: Version unstable, fixing...
Installation
- Turn phone on download mode
- Enter odin, load the pit file, disable repartition (if the option exists, please confirm)
- Load the .tar on PDA
- Start

Via CWM:
Download: Version unstable, fixing...
Installation
- Enter Samsung CWM, selectec the update.zip
- Load the CWM via update.zip
- Install the above file using CWM
- Reboot and test everything

If possible test the Odin and CWM versions, i need to know they both work

Thanks!

Thanks. I was able to boot into cwm with no issues, leaving the update.zip on sdcard.

I just performed a successful back up from within clock work mod.

All the files are there, backed up nicely in the clockworkmod folder, on the root of my sdcard ;-)

Happy days LOL.

Thanks for this early version of cwm Motafoca O0

I think motafoca created a temporary recovery that works over stock recovery. Flash every time that update.zip whenever you want clockworkmod recovery.
